FANTASY

Yesterday I cried again
Just wish that you would know my name
I hear your voice, I see your face
They both put misery in my days
They make me happy because it's you
They make me sad because it's true
I don't have you, I never might
We haven't met yet, that just ain't right
Look at you I can for hours
Looked at me you haven't yet
I've known you for many years now
But still we haven't even met
I know that you're the one for me
I know that we're meant to be
If only I could feel your touch
If only I didn't need you this much
You set a fire deep inside my soul
And put it out no one could
If I could meet you someday soon
Make you mine I instantly would
But now all I do is cry
And fantasize 'bout days of you and I
I wish my fantasies would come true
'Cause I cannot live without you

UNTITLED

When the roads crack and bend before you,
And the bleak sky is the horizon line,
And the feared illusions are coming true,
The eyes are yours and mine.

Though I remember days of Legos and chocolate chips,
And of your great wisdom to that of mine,
I remember most the words that crossed your lips:
"Always remember the sunshine."

You have been my brother, my next of kin,
As long as I can recall
Through toughest years and soldiers of tin,
You were like my brick wall.

I could come to you about anything
You always knew what to do
That was always something
That was consistent about you.

And as we advance, though silent now,
The road of life stretches ahead,
You make it all the better somehow,
Like you always did.

I lay my trust down to smooth the chasms,
To make the bumps less severe,
To try and repay your selfless feats,
And to thank you, my brother, for being here.

TOO HIGH TO TOUCH

I look up at you
at where you stand
I reach out to you
but miss your hand
u seem so close
and yet seem so far
it seems impossible
to catch a star
so many people
keep us apart
how can i ever
get to your heart
i jump in the air
longing for your touch
it seems i cant reach
what i need so much
my heartache is sure
unreasonably pure
and the hurt and the pain
are always insane
although i've cried so long
and tried so much
your hand will alwayz be
just too high to touch

I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU

I'll be there for you
Until the sea dries up
I'll be there for you
Until the sun fades away
I'll be there you
Until the hell freezes over
I'll be there for you
Until the time is through

There's so many things to say
There's so many things to do
I thought I have the strength
But I'm just too weak

Just like the lovers and friends
On their relationship and freindship
We often hear them say
"Count on me through thick and thin."

Telling you to trust them
That they'll always be there
But are they? .who cares
As long as I'll always be there

Now you're in a dark place
I can't get through you
But still I promise you this
That I'll be there for you

HIGHER GROUND

As the rain comes crashing down
I look up, searching for a haven of safety…
Someone's arms to be held in
Someone's warm breath to tell me
That it's all gonna be all right.

But I'm gasping for air
Drowning in the flood waters
As they rise and rise.
The harder I try to escape
The faster the water rises
Until I am left with little to no hope.

But I know at the top of the hill
Lies the safety I have been longing for
The hands I have wanted to hold
The lips I have wanted to kiss

And everyday seems the same as the next
But every struggle harder than the first
Every challenge more deadly than the last
But I know if I just hang in there
That one day… just one day… I will make it
To Higher Ground

UNTITLED

Sitting in that hospital room, I thought my life was gone,
I was only twelve, I was still young, and my daddy had past on.
I was scared, I felt so alone, there was nothing I could do,
I needed a hope, I needed a friend, someone I could turn to.
I prayed for a miracle, I longed for a dream
Even God had abandoned me-or so it seemed
Then one day, I found a way to move on, when God answered my prayer.
I bought the CD of a band I'd never heard, but I decided to take a dare.
I'd never heard any of the songs before, and I really don't know why,
but something inside me said to buy the CD, just to give it a try.
I listened to the whole CD, and fell in love with every song.
This band seemed to bring me joy that I'd hoped for for so long.
One special song on this CD has made a change in me,
for the lyrics of this song, where what my father said, you see.
Just before he died, he told me that I mustn't cry.
He said that God had decided that it was his time to die.
The lyrics gave me comfort, and reminded me of what he said.
They also made me look at myself and the life that I have lead.
Now when I think of HANSON, my whole face beams,
for I now realize that my father is With me In my Dreams.

YOUR TRUE KINGDOM

Your power
Is binding.
Your power
Is absolute.
Your power
Is incredible.
Your power
Is you.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
You are you.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
If it fades,
Let it fade.
If it grows,
Let it grow.
If nothing happens,
Let it stay.
We love you for you.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
You took this job.
We took this job.
With it comes its perks.
With it comes its downfalls.
Its letdowns.
Its vacations.
We accept you for you.
We should.
And we do.
It could take years
To discover truth
Within the thousands.
But in the end
We will be waiting.
Still accepting you for you--
Nothing less.
And nothing more.

RAINY DAY

It’s been two days since I’ve seen the sky.
Tears from heaven fall quite hard at times.
The heavens are saddened.
The world is not right.
Is there too much pain today?

Someone is crying,
For all of the people that have nothing.
For the people who are ill and hungry.
For the little girl that is hurt by a bad man
For the little boy with no shoes on his feet.
The heavens cry.

The rain is slowing.
Is someone happy now?
The sun is showing; a little.
Did someone do a good deed?
Did it fix all the badness?

Little good is ever seen in this world.
People are starving and dying of war.
But there is a ray of hope from the cloudy shy.
A person has reached out to help another person.
And the rainy day becomes clear once more.

ANGELS SING

Hanging from this cliff
Above the angry depths
My fingers get stiff
And I can't catch my breath

I'm afraid to fall
But I can't get back up
I can hear you call
But my arm won't reach up

I can just see your outstretched fingers
Reaching out for me
The warmth of your breath lingers
And I'm almost set free

But the raging wind blows
Me further down
Swinging out of control
I start tumbling down

Now I feel the strength of your grasp
Your hand entwined in mine
And in relief I gasp
As we resume to climb

Higher and higher
Now I can see the peak
We have both grown tired
But neither dares to speak

At the top of the world
Where we both thought never
At the top of the world
But we can't stay forever

On our journey back down
We don't speak of such things
We know we heard the sound
We heard the angels sing

I PUT ON A FACE

I put on a face
The one that people see
I use it every place
The one that keeps me free.

I put on an act
That all around me see
They don’t know the fact
Of the person who is me.

I put on a show
True me hides deep inside
True friends are ones who know
The person that I hide.

I’m tired of the play
Some days it’s really hard
To be the image on display
That is so on the card.

I’m tired of the lie
So this I say to you
The ones who seem so high
May be so low it’s true.

Now the face is gone
Shining through is the true me
My dark side has finally won
For this moment it will be.

But soon a new day will break
The face will come on back
But for all others sake
The face I will not lack.

NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST

Thirty billion missiles
Fifty thousand warheads
Why? Why?
Why carpet bombs, human bombs?
Hurry up, create love, create peace.
Nuclear holocaust! Radiation poison!
In our bones you attack.
O pestilence! You laugh like Satan.
Lamb?
Yes, Lamb is life.
While Lord reigns,
Our planet is safe.
Christ'd subdued the Bomb-
It's a fact
And we'll be new men.
It is very sad,
It won't be early.
