“Where’s your car?” She asked. “I don’t have a car.” I answered. “What!” She yelled as she stopped in her spot. “Do you want a ride or not?” I asked a little to angrily then what I intended. “What do you have?” She asked, raising an eyebrow. “That.” I answered, pointing to my jet black Harley Davidson motorcycle. “That? Since when do you have a bike?” She said wide eyed. “Since now.” “Uh…I don’t know…” She said, thinking hard about it. “You are already late…” I said, rocking back and forth on the balls of my feet. “Fine.” She huffed. I got on my bike and waited patiently for her to get on. “I suggest you hold on.” I turned and smiled at her. She reached her hands around my waist and held on. I kicked off the kickstand and turned it on. “Ready?!” I yelled over the roar of the motor. “WHAT!?” She yelled. I nodded and started to go. She rocked back uneasily and held her embrace on me tighter, resting her chin on my shoulder. We got to the school and I turned off the engine. I turned my head to look at her. She was still holding onto me for dear life, with her eyes shut tight. “Phyllis?” I said, tapping one of her hands around my waist. “Is it over?” She said by my ear. “Yes, you can let go now.” I laughed. She let go and I could see that she had been white knuckling it the whole way. “Are you all right?” I asked, turning to look at her as she got off the bike. “Just fine.” She said, smiling uneasily. “All right. Uh…do you know those girls?” I asked, noticing two girls standing on the steps of the school. One girl had long brown hair, pulled back in a braid, glasses, jeans and a green sweatshirt. The other girl had blonde hair, pulled back in a ponytail, a blue shirt and a pair of black pants. They both had strange grins on their faces. Phyllis turned around, saw them and turned back to me. She had a look of almost horror on her face. “What’s wrong?” I whispered. “I’m going to be embarrassed.” She said, letting her face go flush.
