“What are you doing here!” I yelled. Standing there with her hands on her hips was Amanda, staring at me coldly. “Answer me!” I screamed as I made my way over to her. “I know what you’re doing Taylor! Don’t even think about going after her!” She yelled defiantly. “That’s none of your damn business!” I said angrily and could feel my hunger build as the heat rose I my face. “Do you seem to think she’s going to fall in your arms and be yours forever or something? If you do, then you have a really warped sense of reality!” “I LOVE HER!” “SHE DOESN’T CARE!” Amanda yelled in my face. “I don’t need to explain myself to a witch!” I yelled and turned my back to her. My eyes went wide as I heard a laugh escape her. I spun around and stared at her. “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU LAUGHING AT!” I screamed. “You don’t need to explain yourself to a witch! Boy, you really have no clue. Is this what this is all about? Being a witch?” “I don’t like you!” I said, staring coldly at her. “The feelings mutual! How can I put this lover boy, I’m not the only witch!” She laughed mocking me. “So the blonde is too!” I yelled angrily. “Whatever you want to think. I warn you, if I find you anywhere near her, I WILL kill you.” She said, immediately changing her expression. She turned on her heal and without another word, left. I ignored her threat. I frankly didn’t give a shit what she said. I was on a mission. Find Phyllis and explain what’s going on. I decided the most logical thing to do would to be to follow Amanda to Phyllis’ location. I left the hotel and watched as she disappeared around the corner. I followed behind, far enough so she didn’t know I was following. I followed along for a couple blocks when I heard my name being called again. “Tay!” I could hear Ike’s voice and I turned around fast. Both Ike and Zac were there. “What!” I yelled. “What’s going on?” Ike asked as he made his way over to where I was standing. “I’m trying to find someone!” I said angrily. Zac just looked at me. “Tay, why don’t we go and take a walk.” Ike smiled. “I don’t have time to…” I said impatiently. “Oh come on.” He smiled. “Fine.” I sighed. My search for her would have to wait. “My brothers” and I walked down the street in silence. We walked past a local restaurant when Zac spoke up. “Isn’t that her and her friends.” He said, topping in front of a he picture window. I walked over to it and peered in. Sure enough, there they sat. Phyllis sat so I could see the side of her face. She was chatting away with the girls, oblivious of the outside world. I looked closer and could see, sitting in front of her was a glass bowl filled with three scoops of chocolate ice cream. She reached a slender hand to the side of the bowl and brought up in her right hand, a long handled spoon. I watched as she carefully scooped a spoonful of ice cream onto her utensil. She brought it to her lips. Those lips and opened her mouth. Her lips curled around the spoon with ease and she slid it out of her mouth, licking her lips with her tongue. My mouth was watering, not for the ice cream. “Tay?” Zac called, breaking me away from watching her. I looked at him bewildered. “Time to go.” He said. “ Can’t we go in?” I pleaded. All I as thinking about was that I had to talk to her. “Tay, we have to get back to the hotel. It’s getting late.” Ike said as he looked at his watch. “Why do you want to go in there anyway? Every time you see her, you hide?” Ike laughed. I just ignored him and pressed my palm to the window. I stopped suddenly when I could see Amanda’s cold stare in my direction. That and the glint of that dam pentacle. I quickly turned around and followed “my brothers”. All I could think about on the way back to the hotel was how much I wanted to talk to her. Zac seemed to sense it because he just kept silent the whole time. Ike on the other hand was practically chewing off my ear talking about some idea he had for a song. I was totally ignoring him and the longer I kept quiet, the louder he would get. We rounded the corner, about 4 blocks from the hotel when I caught my breath. I looked and saw what looked like Holly and Amanda walked into a store. I looked at Ike and Zac and booked across the street. Ike yelled for me but I ignored him. I stopped right before the door. I was really reluctant to go in. I finally got nerve and looked through the window. There she was, standing there, holding a crystal in her hands. She was wearing her hair up in a messy bun with a few wild tendrils around her face. She had on a white tank top with a black, hooded over shirt that zipped up along with a pair of jeans. I watched as Amanda walked past her and went through a set of curtains in the back of the store. Holly was on her knees in front of a bookshelf, looking at a book with dragon illustrations. I had to go in. I couldn’t waste any more time. I opened the door, hearing chimes ring as I came in. Phyllis immediately looked in the direction of the door and her eyes went wide with shock. All of a sudden, she dropped the crystal and it shattered on the floor. She seemed oblivious. She backed away as I came in and immediately walked towards her. “Phyllis.” I spoke, allowing my voice to crack. “T-Taylor?” She stuttered in utter shock. “I’ve been looking for you.” I smiled. I finally reached her and took her hand. “I need to speak with you…” I said and began to pull her towards the door. I stopped suddenly when I lowered my eyes from her face to her throat. Surrounding her neck was a black cord. That cord held a pendant. A pentacle. I started to panic. I could feel myself start to loose control. “YOU’RE A WITCH!” I screamed. “I…I…y-yes.” She stammered. “Why didn’t I see it!? I’m…” Phyllis put two fingers to my lips and I immediately shut up. Holly had been busy cleaning up the crystal shards, but her gaze kept moving back to the curtain Amanda had disappeared behind. Phyllis looked at the curtain and back at me. “We can’t talk here.” She said, pulling me towards the door. “She’ll be able to sense you if you stay her any longer.” Her voice sounded…concerned. Her eyes…I had noted the power in them when I first saw her but now there was something else…not just the power, but everything else. Emotions, feelings, thoughts…she seemed to be struggling with something else, and I wanted to know what. She nodded to Holly and then dragged me outside. Looking back at the door, she took a deep breath, and her eyes seemed to flare. “We’ve got to move, now!” She said, taking my hand ad running from the shop. “My brothers” were nowhere to be seen. I followed more for my own enjoyment than for safety. She was glowing and something inside of me matched that. If I had been mortal, I would’ve had to say it was my life, but I died a mortal’s death awhile ago. It had been about five minutes before she stopped, by a church of all places. Once we were inside, I could feel the stale, stiff air attack me. She was still holding my hand as we sat down in a middle pew. I could still see, let alone feel, the glow around her and against the background of the church, she looked like an angel. My angel… “Taylor?” She asked, looking me straight in the eye. “Why are you following me?” “I…I…” I stammered for words. How could I tell her I lover her when I hardly even know her? And I couldn’t tell her I’m a vampire. That would just make matters worse. Hell, I already fell in love with a witch. “Please…Taylor…I have to know…” “Phyllis…I…I think…I’m in love with you!” I blurted out. “Taylor…” “I know what you are, and I don’t care. Actually, I think it’s your power that drew me to you…when I met you, I felt your power, your zest for life. And when you resisted me, I knew you were the one…” “Taylor, it’s flattering, really it is, but…I…I don’t think it could even work…” “Then you know…” “I don’t know anything, but I don’t think it would work, you, I have nothing against you, but if Amanda, my coven sister, can’t ‘tolerate’ you, then it can’t work. I can’t hurt her or Holly…” “I don’t care! I want to be with you forever!” I cried, letting all my emotions pour into my voice. I felt so totally out of control. I could feel my eyes gloss over with fresh, hot tears. She scrunched up her brow and put her hand gently on my face. “Oh…Taylor.” She said as finally she moved in. I embraced her, feeling her body against mine. I closed my eyes and put my arms around her. I finally felt complete. She let go and looked in my eyes. She brushed back a couple of locks of hair away from my eyes and stared at me. “We can’t tell her about us.” I whispered. “We can’t…” I added as I pressed my forehead to hers. She closed her eyes tight. “I have to go.” She said, almost inaudible. “When do you want to meet?” I asked as she stood up. “I’ll find you.” She smiled. She bent over and kissed me on the cheek. She turned and began to leave. “Phyllis…” “Yes.” She said as she turned back around. “I really do love you.” I said. It almost sounded poetic as it came out of my mouth. She stared at me for a second. I waited patiently for a reaction. “I…I…”She stammered. I took a deep breath and glanced down at the floor. “Uh…” “I…I love you too.” She said and took off, running out of the church at full speed. I looked up fast just to see her open and close the church doors. My eyes were so wide. I slowly got up from my place in the pew and walked out the door. She was no where in sight. My angel had taken flight. I smiled to myself. I began walking back to my hotel when I could feel my hunger gnawing at me. All I could think about was just to be with her and Amanda was interfering. At that moment, I couldn’t care who the hell she was. I wanted her dead. I wanted to kill her, myself! << Previous Page of Story>> << Back to Story Page>> << Back To Index Of Chapters Page>> Back To Main Page>> |
